It’s been a week, that’s for sure. I plan to do another couple Food for the Eatin’ posts, but that requires me to have some quite time to write it. I may find a few minutes this weekend. I certainly hope so.
In the meantime, I spoke today as a panelist on the Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law “Forensic Fridays” discussion about social media and the law. The panel also included an FBI agent and IT folks who specialize in forensics/litigation. It was a neat panel and I really enjoyed it. An added bonus, prior to the panel, the other speakers and I had lunch with Dr. Wecht, which was cool. I’ve been wanting to expand into more conference and speaking opportunities, and things are going swimmingly in that regard.
Ironically, during that very panel discussion, I also learned that someone had ripped off the pierogi graphics on this site (which, yes, I commissioned and paid for), and was passing them off as their own. For most people, this would be an incredible frustrating and stressful experience. But since I deal with litigation and conflict every single day, all day long, I’d say it’s just say dealing with it is one more thing to put on my “to do” list. Luckily the site, when contacted, removed the graphics fairly promptly. However, someone who I can only assume was the author of the particular post put up all these facebook comments about how they credited Google images as the source for the pictures, so really it’s all ok. I did try to correct her. WHY DID I DO THAT? I should have learned long ago that correcting someone on the internet, particularly on legal issues, results in more headaches than it resolves.
Now it is the evening time. Mr. Beez and I took the little one to dinner, and now we’re on the couch watching The Interview. Dear Lord I wanted to hate this movie, but it’s pretty much hilarious. What can I say?
Happy weekend, yinz. I’ve got a 9 mile run scheduled and a trip to the library with Baby Beez to get some books to learn about MLK, Jr. Day. Hope you all have a good one!
